I was scared witless by Laura's challenge this week over at I am the Diva! We were only allowed to use two tangles - Assunta and Mooka, both of which are quite tricky to master. Oh well - in for a penny, in for a pound, as we say over here in the UK! I was determined to have a go, whether or not I could do it well.
I decided to "biggify" Assunta, and do a wild Mooka within it. The whole thing turned out much bigger than I usually do, at around 11" x 8.5". I used watercolours to brighten it up a bit, and I must say I like it quite a lot!
Here's the result - thanks for looking and please leave me a comment - I love it when people talk to me as otherwise I get quite lonely!
This is gorgeous! I love how the mooka wraps so delicately around the assunta. Like you, I found this quite challenging. Unlike you, I didn't master it!
ReplyDeleteLove this tangle!.....adding the color just makes it AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI really love this! Your Mooka just flows. It has so much movement. I had to push myself to do this challenge too. You really outdid yourself!
ReplyDeleteWunnerful, wunnerful, as Lawrence W. would say. Beautifully done, the one Assunta is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWell this ia a realy clevver how you find this way! Love the use of color.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, the use of colour is great and it has such movement in it.

This is super Lorraine. I think you went straight in for a pound!!! Whenever I see your work I want to have a go with watercolours again!
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful! Your Mooka is so graceful and I love the little dots defining Assunta.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I had the same idea to make the Assunta really big, but I haven't had a chance to do it yet. I'll try not to steal your wonderful design now that I've seen it and have it imprinted on my mind, lol! I'll try to stick with my original thoughts. Very hard to do! Glad you tried this. Your results are spectacular! Encore!
ReplyDeleteBiggifying assunta, adding the graceful lines of mooka and then color....ahhh...a masterpiece for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous response to the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful!!! I love how you handled this challenge!! And I am usually not into color that much but I love what you have done....really enhances the tile!!!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! Love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tile of the #83 challenge! Wish I was half as good with Mooka as you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great "huge" tile. I wouldn't have known its size if you hadn't mentioned it. It really is lovely. I'm still laughing from the last post I looked at, and yours makes me keep laughing. It's because so many of you you "hate to do mooka" and yet when you do, they turn out so lovely. That is funny to me. Keep on keeping on.....tangling!
ReplyDeleteAll of the above!
ReplyDeleteA Masterpiece!
This is so graceful, innovative and beautiful. I looked at it for quite a while before commenting -- very flowing and meditation inducing!
ReplyDeleteVery clever indeed . I asked where is the asunta and it poped . Beautifully done Mooka.
ReplyDeleteI looked at your ZIA first before I read your blog. At first I was wondering where was Assunta, then it jumped out at me. I had to read why you and how you came up with such a beautiful design. This is so beautiful and creative, and so many other words I can't think of right now to describe what you have created.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much to each of you for your comments. They really are very much appreciated, and I feel very humbled because you are all such amazing artists. What a fantastic community this is - I'm so glad I found you.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Such a creative and beautiful way to do the challenge! The colors are outstanding!
ReplyDeletePizzaz and panache with style!
ReplyDeleteThis just sings with beauty! Very well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great solution to a challenging challenge! And beautiful, too!

ReplyDeleteWow, Lorry, I am stunned by your work - really blown me away! I do not understand all the terms used - but hey that doesn't matter as just looking and soaking your designs up are enough!
ReplyDeleteLorraine, I miss you and your beautiful work. Hope all is O.K.
ReplyDeleteHello Susan, thank you for your lovely message. I'm fine, I've just been recharging my batteries and will be back zentangling soon. Thank you for asking after me.
